At approximately 11:12 a.m. on June 2, a tree trimmer was shocked while trimming tree limbs in close proximity to primary voltage electrical lines at 2840 West Gulf Drive, Sanibel. The Sanibel Fire and Rescue District and Lee County EMS responded to the scene and administered advanced life support to the man. He was then transported by LeeFlight to Lee Memorial Hospital’s Trauma Center to receive urgent medical care. While Floridians are preparing for hurricane season, the Sanibel district urges the community to take all necessary precautions before going near power lines.
