Junonia found on Sanibel
Denise Nicholson, of Continental, Ohio, found a junonia on April 26 at about 3 p.m. by Blind Pass. Always finding pieces of the coveted shell, it is the first time she has found a whole one. She reported that she and her husband, Jeff, had arrived at the beach about 10 minutes earlier when she found the junonia. Upon finding the shell and realizing what it was, Nicholson ran back to her husband shouting with excitement to show him. Regular visitors to the islands, the couple added that they love Sanibel. Nicholson noted that she likes making jewelry using the shells she finds and collects.
