‘Poems from Sanibel and Beyond’ released
Jim Weyant recently published his first book of poetry, “Poems from Sanibel and Beyond,” at the age of 81. With a home on Sanibel since 1978, he and his wife became residents in 2001 after Weyant retired from the New York Stock Exchange as a system analyst. He always loved the island’s environs sense of community and friendly atmosphere, and he was always busy with tennis, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends. However, when COVID restrictions afforded Weyant more free time, he began to express his feelings about the Sanibel in poetry. His reflections also include current events, family and friends and, of course, love. “Poems from Sanibel and Beyond” was written, edited, formatted and printed by Amazon within one year. The book is available on Amazon and on-island at Gene’s Books, MacIntosh Books and Paper, Bailey’s General Store and the Sanibel Public Library.
