A group of more than 20 Sanibel Historical Museum and Village volunteers gathered recently to begin planning — and crafting — for the 2021 holiday season. The month-long event is called “Timelines, Trees, and Special Memories” and will feature fun and educational decorations in each of nine historic homes.

“Each building will have a special timeline of all the generations and purposes it served,” Gayle Pence, one of the program’s chairs, said. “The tree decorations and the displays will reflect the unique purpose, events and items that showcase each building’s memorable past.”

The program will cover history and decorations never before been shared by the village.

Over 40 volunteers are involved with the project doing extensive research and making special ornaments and displays. The decorations will be displayed for the village’s special holiday events.
