Annual Feed My Starving Children event to go virtual
The 3rd annual Sanibel Feed My Starving Children MobilePack cannot happen this year due to COVID-19 concerns. Instead, there will be a virtual fundraiser for the month of March.
Organizers reported that through this year’s online initiative, event supporters can continue to help provide for the children around the world who are dealing with starvation and malnutrition.
Feed My Starving Children is a Christian nonprofit, hunger relief organization that packs nutritious meals, which are shipped to over 80 countries and used by mission and community organizations, orphanages, schools, medical clinics and other NGOs to feed millions of starving youths and adults.
Ninety one percent of all monies donated goes to purchase food and Feed My Starving Children has a 99.8 percent success rate in shipping the containers of food to its distributors, organizers reported.
The goal for this year is to provide 160,000 meals, which requires raising $40,000. The Sanibel fundraiser has a matching gift promised for the first $10,000 raised, doubling the donations.

The public can also donate by sending a check to Feed My Starving Children, 401 93rd Ave. N.W., Coon Rapids, MN 55433; write “Sanibel #2103-39NO” on the memo line of check donations.
