SHELL MUSEUM NAMES FINANCE MANAGER
The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum has named Ryan Powell as its new finance manager.
Powell, who has lived in the Fort Myers area for most of his life, completed his bachelor’s in accounting at Florida Gulf Coast University. He most recently worked as an accountant for Wiltshire, Whitley, Richardson & English, a Fort Myers accounting firm. Powell also brings extensive management experience to the museum, after working for Publix Super Markets for 14 years.
His volunteer work with the United Way and its partner agencies over the years has shifted his interest to working in the nonprofit realm, and Powell is thrilled to join the museum team and become a part of the Sanibel community.
SCBR PROMOTES BERGER TO DIRECTOR

Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts recently announced the promotion of Michele Berger to the role of director of resort operations for Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts.
Her new title will give her the responsibility for leadership, direction, revenues and guest satisfaction at ‘Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa, West Wind Island Resort, Beachview Cottages and Castaway Cottages.
Berger currently serves as general manager to ‘Tween Waters and West Wind and carries a considerable amount of experience and extensive skills. She has over 20 years of working in retail and hospitality.
SAN CAP COMMUNITY BANK HIRES ROJAS
Alexis Rojas has joined the Sanibel Captiva Community Bank as a loan coordinator at its main office, at 2406 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.

She assists the residential lending department with the preparation of loan applications, collection of supporting documentation from loan customers, and submission to underwriting for review and approval.
Rojas is a graduate of Florida SouthWestern State College and is currently pursuing her degree in legal studies at Florida Gulf Coast University. She has prior management experience in the retail industry.
CHAMBER TO HOST VIRTUAL BUSINESS MEETING
Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau Executive Director Tamara Pigott will be the guest speaker at virtual business meeting of the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce on March 10 at noon.
Since 2010, Pigott has overseen the promotion of The Beaches of Fort Myers and Sanibel as a travel destination to targeted visitors, including vacationers and business travelers. She is responsible for the strategic planning of domestic and international sales and marketing efforts and supervising the day-to-day operations of the VCB’s local staff and international consultants.
