Lee Health to offer virtual program on pre-diabetes
Lee Health announced a free program designed to help one make modest lifestyle changes and cut one’s risk of Type 2 diabetes by more than half. The year-long program is part of the National Diabetes Prevention Program, led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It consists of weekly meetings for the first six months, then once or twice a month for the second six months.
Information presented in the workshop can help one become empowered to prevent Type 2 diabetes. Learn about the benefits of physical activity, managing symptoms of stress, making smarter decisions related to healthy eating, and tips to stay motivated. Participants will receive a guide to use as an ongoing reference tool once the classes are completed.
The program, done virtually through an online platform, will begin on March 3 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Seating is limited and registration is required.
