Bad for business?

By Staff | Feb 16, 2021

To the editor:

I read in the Feb. 3, 2021, issue of the Island Reporter that COVID-19 cases had topped 200 on Sanibel and Captiva recently.

I walk along the Periwinkle path every day. It is very narrow and heavily traveled by bicycles, runners and pedestrians. There is not enough room for “safe distancing,” and there are no signs regarding safe behavior. People ride past on their bikes, others jog and run without masks. All of them huff and puff, with little regard for the welfare of others.

The government of the islands have seemingly not taken much responsibility for safe behavior. Bad for business?
