Audubon to present ‘Falconry in Florida’

MIKE SAWICKI Mike Sawicki
The Sanibel-Captiva Audubon Society will host Captiva falconer Mike Sawicki for a Webinar program, “Falconry in Florida,” on Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. via Zoom.
He will discuss the history, practice and his personal experiences with the ancient field sport of falconry. Sawicki is a Virginia native and lifelong student of the natural world. He harbored an interest in birds and falconry from a very young age. Sawicki eagerly shares his love of the outdoors with anyone patient enough — or too polite to flee — to listen.
This is the fourth of eight Sanibel-Captiva Audubon Webinars to be held this season. To register, up to five days before the program visit www.san-capaudubon.org/programs.html and click on “JOIN” in the description. A Zoom link for the program will be emailed to you. All are always welcome to join.
To view a video of a Webinar after the presentation, click on “VIDEO” in its description.
There is no charge to participate. However, as a $10 donation was suggested for entry to the previous in-person series, a donation is still suggested by mailing the address listed at www.san-capaudubon.org or via PayPal at Paypal.me/SanCapAudubon. Donations are much appreciated and, after costs, help to promote conservation on the islands and in the state.
