High school photo contest deadline extended

The J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge and the “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge announced that the deadline for the eighth annual “Ding” Darling-Theodore Cross High School Photography Contest has been extended to Feb. 15. It invites high school students in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Glades, and Hendry counties to compete for prizes that include a Canon digital SLR camera package, chartered class trips to the refuge and copies of “Waterbirds: Portraits and Anecdotes from Birding Adventures” by the contest’s namesake, the late Theodore Cross.
