Art exhibit in Bailey Homestead gardens
“Natives In The Garden” is the theme of a new show that will open on Jan. 19 at the Bailey Homestead Preserve, at 1300 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Weather-resistant outdoor art is on display in the gardens. It is representative of the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation’s mission to protect and care for Southwest Florida’s coastal ecosystems. Local artists support SCCF’s efforts to conserve coastal habitats, including native wildlife and flora, and aquatic resources on Sanibel and Captiva and in the surrounding watershed. Visitors will find 3-dimensional pieces to excite, inspire and amuse. All work is for sale and the artists donate a percentage to SCCF. The exhibit will be on display through March 11. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. For more information, visit sancapart.org.
