Lee County operations adjust schedules for holiday

Most Lee County administrative operations will be closed on Dec. 24-25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. The holiday schedule adjustments are as follows:

SOLID WASTE

Solid Waste offices and the Topaz Court Solid Waste Annex will be closed on Dec. 24- 25. The Resource Recovery Facility in Buckingham will be closed on Dec. 25, but open regular hours on Dec. 24.

All garbage, recycling and yard waste collections in unincorporated Lee County, the City of Bonita Springs, the Village of Estero and the Town of Fort Myers Beach that is normally picked up on Dec. 25 will be collected on Dec. 26.

Christmas trees that have had the stand and all lights and decorations removed, including tinsel, can be set out with regular yard waste and will be ground into mulch. All wrapping paper, except metallic, is recyclable — along with cardboard boxes. Plastic ribbons and bows are not recyclable.

LEETRAN

LeeTran will operate its regularly scheduled bus service on Dec. 24. There will be no bus, trolley or Passport service on Dec. 25. Bus service will resume on Dec. 26.

PARKS & RECREATION

On Dec. 24-25, beaches, boat ramps, parks and preserves will be open.

The Administrative office, recreation centers, community centers and Six Mile Cypress Slough Interpretive Center will be closed on Dec. 24-25. The centers will resume normal operating hours on Dec. 26; the Administration office resumes normal operating hours on Dec. 28.

The community swimming pools will be closed on Dec. 25-28, resuming normal operating hours on Dec. 29.

LIBRARY SYSTEM

On Dec. 24-25, all libraries will be closed. Libraries will resume current limited hours on Dec. 26.

LEE COUNTY DOMESTIC ANIMAL SERVICES

On Dec. 24-25, the Lost & Found Pet Center and the Pet Adoption Center, at 5600 Banner Drive, Fort Myers, will be closed. Normal hours will resume on Dec. 26.

LEE COUNTY UTILITIES

The Customer Service Lobby, at 7391 College Parkway, Fort Myers, remains closed to the public.

The drive-thru window will be closed on Dec. 24-25 and will reopen on Dec. 28.

A drop-box is on-site at the front door and another is accessible via the drive-thru for payments by check. A drop-box is also available at the Lee County Community Development/Public Works Center, at 1500 Monroe St., Fort Myers.

The Call Center will be closed on Dec 24-25. It will reopen on Dec. 28.
