Reported number of COVID-19 cases increases on Sanibel

UPDATE: As of today’s update, Sanibel’s total number of recorded cases has increased to 113.
Lee County has recorded 34,478 total cases of COVID-19 — 33,661 residents and 817 non-residents — including 111 cases between Sanibel and Captiva, according to the Florida Department of Health.
As of the Dec. 13 update, the DOH reported that it has recorded a total of 1,125,931 cases in Florida. The figure consists of 1,107,103 residents who tested positive, along with 18,828 non-residents.
There have been 19,866 deaths among Florida residents — 1.8 percent of the total cases.
There have been 613 deaths among residents in Lee — 1.8 percent of the total cases.
