TBE offers tours, more through the holidays
Tarpon Bay Explorers is offering a variety of tours daily throughout the holiday season.
The Kayak Trail Tour allows participants to explore the inner workings of a mangrove forest. The Low Tide Tour reveals shallow mudflats and seagrass beds where birds frantically forage for food. The Sunset Rookery Paddle reveals the Tarpon Bay’s beauty as the sun sets over the mangrove horizon and birds swoop into the rookery islands for the night.
In addition, standup paddleboard tours are regularly offered by TBE. With a bird’s eye view, participants can paddle along and watch the seagrass sway while fish swim by.
Designed for enthusiastic and avid anglers, Hobie fishing kayaks are also available for rent.
The concession to the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, TBE offers a variety of eco-tours for the Sanibel refuge and contributes 12 percent back to national wildlife refuges across the country.
