Chapel by the Sea cancels service for Christmas Eve

By CAPTIVA CHAPEL - | Dec 3, 2020

The Captiva Chapel by the Sea announced that with the health and safety of its parishioners in mind, it has decided to cancel this year’s Christmas Eve service that would have taken place on Dec. 24.

The chapel’s Christmas lights will burn brightly for viewing from now until Jan. 10 from 5:30 to 10 p.m. On Christmas Eve, the holiday lights will be on from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Masks are mandatory.

If at any time the chapel’s yard becomes overcrowded, visitors will be asked to wait in line in the parking lot — standing 6 feet apart — until there is room to view the lights comfortably and safely. To avoid congestion, photographs will not be permitted on Dec. 24; visitors may return another time.

The Captiva Chapel by the Sea is at 11580 Chapin Lane, Captiva.
