CEPD updates site to allow for damage reports

By CEPD - | Dec 1, 2020

On Nov. 23, the Captiva Erosion Prevention District reported that Tropical Storm Eta removed large amounts of beach and dune sand from Captiva.

Photos of how the storm affected the island could help to prove the need to fund repairs. The more damage documented, the more funding the CEPD may qualify for through state and federal agencies.

The CEPD “Contact Us” page has been updated so the public can make a report and upload photos. Visit www.mycepd.com/contact-us-please-report-and-document-any-beach-damage to submit a report. Do not forget to identify the location or address.

The Website can also be used to report on recent beach conditions. Taking one photo facing the west (looking at the Gulf), one to the north and one to the south helps to provide the best perspective.
