CECI marks holiday with students, families
The Children’s Education Center of the Islands recently celebrated Halloween. In years past, CECI families and friends would father for a performance and costume parade. In light of COVID-19, that was not feasible this year. Only open to enrolled CECI students, families were instead invited for a socially distant trunk-or-treat. Families parked their vehicles in the campus lot, opened their decorated trunks and passed out individually-wrapped non-candy toys and crafts. Everyone wore masks to be mindful of the health of others. CECI educators thought it was important to be able to provide a safe and fun “trick-or-treating” experience for their students, just in case the youths were unable to go out into the community to do so.
