Shell museum shares octopus stories
Halloween may be over, but the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum shared a picture of its giant Pacific octopus with his carved pumpkin. Officials reported that he was extremely curious about the new addition to his environment for the day and was very active. He kept going back to make sure the pumpkin was still there. In addition, the other day the octopus reached out and with one of his arms managed to take the cell phone from Senior Aquarist Carly Hulse. Good news: She now knows that her phone is waterproof. Even better news: He took a selfie with it! The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum is at 3075 Sanibel Captiva Road, Sanibel. For more information, visit www.shellmuseum.org.
