Anne McIntyre Masko Bresslau was born in Abingdon, England to Sarah and Henry McIntyre. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Anne Chiti, son in-law Rudolph Chiti, her grandchildren Rudy Jr., Chris and his wife Jennie, Becky Matra and her husband Dom, as well as four great-grandsons Austin, Andrew, Nicholas, and Bryson. Anne’s son, Andrew Masko passed away in 1994.
In 1945, she married U.S. soldier, Walter Masko, moved to America, and raised her two children in Manhattan, then The Bronx, NY. After her husband’s passing in 1966, Anne opened her own business “Baby World” in Mount Vernon, NY. She married Frank Bresslau in 1977, and moved from Bronxville, NY to Sanibel Island, FL.
Anne enjoyed knitting, dancing, gardening, and social activities. However, she mostly enjoyed the company of others; hence, she volunteered at “Ding” Darling Information Center, F.I.S.H. and worked at Sanibel Seniors to the age of 95. She loved guiding, helping, and interacting with people. Anne gladly shared her lively, energetic personality with humor while displaying her keen eye for fashion – definitely a corker!
She leaves behind many lasting memories for those she touched. We, Anne’s family, are most grateful for “Masie” having shared her life with us.
There will be a Celebration of Life Mass at Saint Isabel’s Catholic Church, 3559 Sanibel Captiva Rd, Sanibel, FL 33957, November 13, at 11:00am. (Streaming available at saintisabel.org)
Contributions to the American Diabetes Association in Anne’s memory would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.
