San-Cap Shell Club seeking photo submissions
The Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club announced that it will host a Virtual Shell Show on March 5-6 from noon to 3 p.m. on the club’s YouTube channel, instead of the traditional in-person show. The public is invited to contribute a fun photo capturing the famous “Sanibel Stoop” for a slide show airing on the first day. The second day, a slide show of favorite shells will be aired. Also, there will be a shell photo contest featuring seven categories, with one winner in each receiving e-prizes. The winners will be showcased throughout the show and online voting will determine the People’s Choice Award for “Best Shell Photo of The Show.” The overall winner will receive a grand e-prize and printable certificate suitable for framing. In addition, the show will feature educational and entertaining videos, DIY shell projects, door prizes and more. Submissions must be received by Nov. 30. To submit photos, visit https://sanibelshellclub.com. For questions, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information, visit facebook.com/sanibelshellclub or instagram.com/sanibelshellclub. The club was formed to exchange information in the fields of conchology and malacology, to foster public education and conservation, and to encourage and support studies and research activities in the fields. All proceeds from the show fund research and educational grants to various institutions and museums.
