School district opens pre-registration for kindergarten
The School District of Lee County has opened pre-registration for students who will start kindergarten in August 2021 until Nov. 20. Pre-registration allows parents to avoid the lengthy wait times often experienced during the traditional student enrollment period.
“Student enrollment has one essential goal, enrolling students to succeed,” Executive Director of Student Enrollment Soretta Ralph said. “We look forward to helping next year’s kindergarten class reach their highest personal potential.”
Students entering kindergarten in August 2021 must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2021.
The documents required to pre-register include:
– Physical exam (dated within the last year)
– Florida Certificate of Immunization
– Proof of address
– Original birth certificate
– Social Security card (if available)
– Custody documents (if applicable)
Parents may pre-register their children online by providing all documents to email@example.com. Parents may also mail the documents, submit by fax to 239-335-1417, or place in the secure drop box outside The Student Enrollment Office entrance, located inside the Lee County Public Education Center, at 2855 Colonial Blvd. Fort Myers.
Parents who wish can visit The Student Enrollment Office. The office is open from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday; the office is closed from noon to 1 p.m. In addition, the office practices social distancing so only one family member is allowed in the lobby.
