Chamber unveils cover for 2021 visitor’s magazine
The Sanibel & Captiva Island Chamber of Commerce recently unveiled the photographic cover for its 2021 annual visitor’s magazine. It features a shoreline image of Sanibel with a pod of dolphins swimming in the foreground, submitted by Chad Hatcher of Xtreme Heights Productions.
“Typically, we would unveil the cover at our October luncheon, but since we aren’t having any in-person meetings, we recorded a video of the unveiling that we will be sharing with members,” President John Lai said.
“I am so grateful that my image was chosen for the cover,” Hatcher shared from his home in Texas. “It is a true honor because Sanibel is dear to my heart. I was born in Fort Myers and spent my childhood living on Sanibel with my family. I moved away from Florida in the ’90s to join the U.S. Navy and have lived in California and now Texas. While living away from Florida, I’ve always loved bringing my own family back to Sanibel to experience some of what I got to enjoy as a kid.”
Vector & Ink, of Fort Myers, produces the magazine each year and helps find photographers to submit appealing images of the islands. Then, the chamber team selects its favorite photo for the cover.
“This one just screamed ‘islands’ for us with its juxtaposition of the natural and manmade beauty of the destination,” Lai said.
Ads are still available for the magazine, which will publish Feb. 1. Interested advertisers can contact Jackie Rodriguez at firstname.lastname@example.org.
“This year we have learned to appreciate our islands even more, a destination where you can feel safe and relaxed,” Vector & Ink South General Manager Alex Bustamante said. “This magazine allows us to share and promote our destination. I think people need some island time now more than ever.”
