Virtual Turkey Trot 5K to benefit food bank

The Sundial Beach Resort & Spa on Sanibel recently announced a Thanksgiving Day Virtual Turkey Trot 5K to benefit the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida.

Participants can enjoy a morning run, walk or jog, while supporting the fight against hunger.

The Harry Chapin Food Bank is the largest hunger relief network in Southwest Florida and serves Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry and Lee counties. Feeding 28,000 people weekly, the it partners with other local agencies, including F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva.

Registration is $35 through Nov. 1, and then $45 up until Nov. 26 at 9 a.m.

Participants will receive a medal and 2020 Turkey Trot logo T-shirt.

People are encouraged to dress up in their finest gobble garb and plot their own course. There will be no group start or course in compliance with social distancing guidelines and local regulations.
