Tower Gallery to host 14th Annual Attic Sale

By TOWER GALLERY - | Oct 7, 2020

The 14th annual Tower Gallery Attic Sale will take place on Oct. 23-31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For the first three days, tents will be set up outside filled with art, with art also located inside of the gallery and on the porch. From Oct. 26-31, it will continue inside of the gallery with art set up.

The event provides art enthusiasts and gallery supporters the opportunity to browse through and purchase work from some of the co-op’s award-winning artists at significantly discounted prices. It is also the gallery’s way of giving back to the locals and community that supports it year after year.

The Tower Gallery represents over 25 local artists working in a multitude of mediums, including sculpture, oil painting, watercolor, acrylics, raku, pottery, photography, jewelry and more.

The event is also a chance to meet the artists and learn firsthand about their work.

“The artwork at Tower is always superior and ever changing,” artist Kelly Morrison said, noting that much of the work on sale comes from constantly rotating what is on display throughout the year.

“There could be that one piece that’s been in the gallery that someone has had their eye on and it might just happen to end up in the Attic Sale,” artist JoAnne Bedient added. “People enjoy prowling through bins and the framed pieces that aren’t hanging on the wall. It’s like going through your grandma’s attic.”

Providing quality art at lower prices does not just benefit the community, it benefits the artists who can use the money to purchase materials for creating new works. The sale is a way for all of the co-op artists to get involved with the gallery and the community.

“We’re a cooperative and we love this gallery,” Morrison said.

To prevent long lines and maintain social distancing during the event, there will be multiple places outside and inside to pay for purchases. Attendees are asked to wear masks and follow CDC protocols.
