Island promotions support 12th Annual 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H.
For the past 11 years, F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva has had great fun with its 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H.
Though the pandemic has impacted island businesses, many are supporting F.I.S.H. through sponsorships and events in order to continue to assist island neighbors. In addition to traditional sponsorships, businesses interested in supporting the 10K were encouraged to host events as a way to safely bring the community together, promote their business and support a community cause.
Upcoming events include: Bailey’s General Store Fish for F.I.S.H., a portion of seafood sales will benefit the race from Oct. 4-10; The Great White Grill, a 10K special on Oct. 13 with a portion of the sales donated; Joey’s Custard, a 10K special on Oct. 15 with a portion of the sales donated; Tips to Toez with Pattee Frank, portion of sales from customers donated on Oct. 16-23; and Island Paws and Over Easy Café, a 10K special day on Oct. 23.
“Our local businesses are always there for F.I.S.H. when we need them most and are such a critical part of our community,” 10K Committee Chair Diane Cortese said. “This year we wanted to find a fun way for the community to participate in the 10K event, even when we’re not gathering in once place.”
