‘Deck The Halls’ call for artists
“Deck the Halls” is an alternative holiday exhibition that encourages appreciation for all holidays of the season. It will exhibit Dec. 4 to Jan. 4 at the Alliance for the Arts, with a Virtual Opening Reception on Dec. 4 from 6 to 7 p.m. Artists are asked to create works of art and installation proposals that utilize holiday decorations in unique ways, re-use, repurpose or re-imagine the use of traditional decorations and envision an immersive installation experience to celebrate the season. Art that utilizes alternative media is encouraged, as well as installation- and video-based works. The curation of the exhibition will feature colored gallery lighting, decorative lights and other typical decorations that “deck the halls” in innovative ways. The deadline for online submission is Nov. 16. Awards include $250 for Best in Show, $125 for second place and $75 for third place. Entries will be juried by multimedia artist and curator Scott Snyder. For more information, visit www.artinlee.org/event/hallsandwalls.
