Waters receding, localized flooding continues
Between Sept. 5 and 9:40 this morning, Monday, Sept. 14, a total of 20.47 inches of rain has fallen on Sanibel Island. Currently waters are receding from some roadways. Motorists should continue to take all precautions.
The majority of the City’s Shared Use Paths remain flooded and covered with significant vegetative debris. City Utility and Public Works crews remain deployed addressing rain related issues.
The current weather forecast predicts an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain today and some rain everyday for the next seven days.
