The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation recently reported that one of its five snowy plover fledglings (Blue/Orange) this season died from an unknown illness. On Aug. 26, it was brought in to Save Our Seabirds in Sarasota by a good samaritan, who found it unable to fly and being picked on by other birds on Siesta Key. It died the following weekend. Its death has been reported to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and it is looking into it.
