LOWRP Project implementation report, impact statement available

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Jacksonville District recently announced the availability of the Final Lake Okeechobee Watershed Restoration Project (LOWRP) Project Implementation Report and Environmental Impact Statement (PIR/EIS).

The document has been posted to its Website in pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Regulation 33 CFR 230.18.

In the report, the Corps proposes construction of a 46,000 acre-foot wetland attenuation feature, installation of 80 aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) wells and restoration of 4,800 acres of wetlands.

As part of the Jacksonville District’s commitment to transparency, the report is available for the public to download at www.saj.usace.army.mil/LOWRP/.
