SCCF provides update on Eden Oak nomination
Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation staff reported that the Eden Oak nomination was not on the Lee County Conservation Lands and Stewardship Advisory Committee’s Aug. 19 meeting agenda.
When asked about the status by Palm Acres resident Mary Tracy Sigman during public comment, county staff informed the committee that about three weeks ago the property owner’s attorney stated that they were trying to hire their own land appraiser for use in the negotiations with Lee County.
The county has requested a time frame for the appraisal’s completion and is awaiting a response.
The next CLASAC meeting is scheduled for Sept. 16 and committee members anticipate receiving another update on the timeframe of the Eden Oak nomination. Any updates released prior to the meeting will be posted on SCCF’s site at http://www.sccf.org/our-work/natural-resource-policy/eden-oak.
