‘Tween Waters seeks artists for ‘Live On Island’
On Aug. 3, ‘Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa put out a call to all Southwest Florida musicians to audition for “Live On Island” – a new program aimed at encouraging the development of talented, up-and-coming musical artists.
“Live On Island” provides an online audition portal to provide artists the opportunity, if selected, to perform professionally poolside at the Captiva resort. According to officials, ‘Tween Waters has a goal of becoming among Southwest Florida’s top entertainment venues by 2022.
The resort reported that it works as follows:
Performers must be at least 16 years of age and possess musical talent acoustically and vocally; individual musicians only. Sets will be two hours with a 10-minute break. Musicians are allowed to play original tracks, covers or a mix of both. A great stage presence with charismatic skills for an intimate crowd is desired, as well.
Visit www.Tween-Waters.com/Live-On-Island and complete the online form. Performers can submit a resume or biography, past performance experiences and media information. The portal also includes the opportunity to submit three digital songs for review.
Winners will be notified and invited to play a set on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. The resort will provide the mic, amp and performance tent, as well as $100 starting salary for first gig. Performers will interact with the audience, ensuring everyone’s having a good time, and will also be promoted on the Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts social media, which broadcasts to a diverse 200,000-follower audience.
