Paddling Tip of the Week

By Staff | Aug 11, 2020

Paddlers should always wear clothing that protects common sunburn areas such as the back, scalp, neck and ears. These parts of the body are highly susceptible to sun damage, which can lead to premature aging and skin cancer. Choose clothing with a UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rating of 50 or more, or natural fibers in dark colors with a tight weave. Hats are a great way to protect your scalp. The weekly paddling tip is provided by the Ocean Tribe Paddling Club, which is affiliated with the Sanibel Sea School. For more information, visit oceantribepaddlers.org.
