City provides status update

Today, the city of Sanibel issued an updated “Current Status” related to COVID-19 provisions. Additionally, Mayor Kevin Ruane extended the declared state of emergency – originally declared in response to COVID-19 – until Aug. 18, unless further extended. Per state Statute, the maximum duration for a mayoral declaration of emergency is seven days. The official sites to monitor for the most current information include: City of Sanibel at www.mysanibel.com; Florida Department of Health at www.FloridaHealth.gov; and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at www.cdc.gov.
