The Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ and Bat Yam Temple of the Islands will host a “No-contact Food Drop Off” on Aug. 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2050 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.

The monthly event serves as a way to help members of the community while staying safe.

The public is asked to put their food donations in the truck or rear of their vehicle. Upon arrival at the church, gloved and masked volunteers will unload the items. There is no need to exit the vehicle.

The donations will split between F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva and the Gladiolus Food Pantry.

Prepackaged food and paper products items are welcome. The following are especially needed: peanut butter, children’s cereal, cooking oil, pasta, canned vegetables, beans, canned chicken, and crackers.

For more information, contact Associate Pastor Deb Kunkel at 239-472-0497 or deb@sanibelucc.org.
