County makes offer on Eden Oak property owner
The Lee County Conservation Land Acquisition and Stewardship Advisory Committee met on July 17 and it was confirmed that the county has made an offer to the owner of the Eden Oak property for Lee County’s Conservation 20/20 program, according to the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation.
The property was nominated in late 2019 for the program.
The nomination process is running parallel to the Lee County zoning change requested by the owner. The final county staff and applicant hearing is scheduled to take place on Dec. 11.
Eden Oak was not on the committee’s agenda for the month and there was no new information presented, but staff said the negotiations are ongoing. The SCCF reported that no further information was available. There may be a negotiation update at the committee’s next meeting on Aug. 19.
