Lee Elections begins mailing Vote-by-Mail ballots
The Lee County Supervisor of Elections Office mailed the first mailing of 155,895 domestic Vote-by-Mail ballots on July 14 for the upcoming Primary Election.
Voter health and safety are important, the Elections Office reported. It encourages voters to Vote-by-Mail in the Aug. 18 Primary and Nov. 3 General elections. To request a ballot, voters may call 239-533-8683 or visit lee.vote. The deadline to request a ballot to be delivered by mail is on Aug. 8 at 5 p.m.
Florida law mandates voted ballots must be physically returned to the Lee County Supervisor of Elections Office by 7 p.m. Election Day, Aug. 18. The United States Postal Service recommends that voters mail their voted ballots one week before the due date to account for any unforeseen events such as weather issues and to allow for timely receipt and processing by the elections office.
Voters may drop-off their voted ballots at secure drop boxes located at the Lee County Elections Center, at 13180 S Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers, and Lee County Supervisor of Elections Main Office at the Melvin Morgan Constitutional Complex, at 2480 Thompson St., Third Floor, Fort Myers, from Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For voters’ convenience, drop boxes will be available all 10 Early Voting sites only during Early Voting on Aug. 8-15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For a list of Early Voting sites and directions, visit lee.vote.
