Finley Joe rehabilitated, released
In December, the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation Sea Turtle Program and Marine Lab staff rescued a large male turtle that was found floating and debilitated in the Pine Island Sound. The turtle was taken to the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife, then transported to the Mote Marine Lab for further rehabilitation, where he was named Finley Joe. On July 15, Finley Joe was rehabilitated and released, returning home to sea. To keep up with the nesting season, visit seaturtle.org/nestdb.
