COVID-19 cases increase on Sanibel

Lee County has 13,125 confirmed cases of COVID-19 – 12,848 Florida residents and 277 non-residents – including 36 cases between Sanibel and Captiva, according to the Florida Department of Health.

As of today’s update, the DOH reported that there are 369,834 confirmed cases in Florida. There are 365,244 cases involving Florida residents and 4,590 cases of non-residents. The numbers include Florida residents who are diagnosed and isolated outside of the state.

In Lee County, there have been 94,164 tests given, with 13,125 testing positive and 81,011 testing negative. In addition, 20 cases are awaiting testing and 28 tests were inconclusive.

Also, the DOH reported that there are 244 recorded deaths among Florida residents for Lee.

– Lehigh Acres: 2,548

– Matlacha: 7

– Miromar Lakes: 3

– Missing: 139*

– North Fort Myers: 435

– Saint James City: 18

– San Carlos Park: 2

– Sanibel: 33

– South Fort Myers: 1

– Tice: 10

*DOH officials reported that the city name was not entered when the test results were.
