COVID-19 cases on Sanibel increase by two

Lee County has 8,340 confirmed cases of COVID-19 – 8,191 Florida residents and 149 non-residents – including 25 cases between Sanibel and Captiva, according to the Florida Department of Health.

As of today’s update, the DOH reported that there are 232,718 confirmed cases in Florida. There are 229,367 cases involving Florida residents and 3,351 cases of non-residents. The numbers include Florida residents who are diagnosed and isolated outside of the state.

In Lee County, there have been 67,860 tests given, with 8,340 testing positive and 59,499 testing negative. In addition, 20 cases are awaiting testing and 21 tests were inconclusive.

Also, the DOH reported that there are 176 recorded deaths among Florida residents for Lee.

– North Fort Myers: 268

– San Carlos Park: 2

– Sanibel: 22

– Tice: 4

*DOH officials reported that the city name was not entered when the test results were.
