Proclamation extends state of emergency, raises minimum age for masks

The city of Sanibel reported today that Mayor Kevin Ruane extended the city’s declared state of emergency – originally declared in response to COVID-19 – until July 14, unless further extended. Additionally, Proclamation 20-041 raises the mandatory minimum age for children to wear facial coverings from 2 to 6 years old.

The city also reported that face coverings not required for properly socially distance participants speaking at public meetings, and that the July meetings of the Historical Preservation and Vegetation Committees have been canceled.
