Lockard inducted into Delta Epsilon Sigma
Saint Anselm College student Lauren Lockard, of Sanibel, has been inducted into the Tau Chapter of the Delta Epsilon Sigma National Scholastic Honor Society for the 2019-20 academic year.
She is an Education Studies: Elementary Education major, Class of 2020.
Students are considered for membership if they have completed at least 50 percent of the credit requirements for their degree and are ranked in the top 20 percent of their class. Candidates also must have demonstrated dedication to intellectual activity and service to their community.
Founded in 1939, Delta Epsilon Sigma is the national scholastic honor society for students, faculty and alumni of colleges and universities with a Catholic tradition. Its purpose is to recognize academic accomplishments, foster scholarly activities and encourage a sense of intellectual community among its members. The Saint Anselm College chapter is one of 119 nationwide and has inducted 729 members.
School board member sworn in as FSBA president-elect
Lee County School Board Member Chris Patricca was recently sworn in as president-elect of the Florida School Board Association. She will serve in the role for the next year while also continuing to represent District 3 on the Lee County School Board.
Patricca served as FSBA vice president during the 2019-20 school year. The entire slate of FSBA officers for the 2020-21 school year were approved in a unanimous vote during a virtual meeting with school board members from around the state.
Patricca was elected to the Lee County School Board in 2016. In 2018, she was selected by her fellow board members for a one-year term as vice chair. Her current term expires in November.
