COVID-19 cases increase again on both islands

Lee County has 7,661 confirmed cases of COVID-19 – 7,515 Florida residents and 146 non-residents – including 22 cases between Sanibel and Captiva, according to the Florida Department of Health.

As of today’s update, the DOH reported that there are 206,447 confirmed cases in Florida. There are 203,376 cases involving Florida residents and 3,071 cases of non-residents. The numbers include Florida residents who are diagnosed and isolated outside of the state.

In Lee County, there have been 65,220 tests given, with 7,661 testing positive and 57,538 testing negative. In addition, 17 cases are awaiting testing and 21 tests were inconclusive.

Also, the DOH reported that there are 167 recorded deaths among Florida residents for Lee.

– North Fort Myers: 247

– Saint James City: 6

– San Carlos Park: 2

– Sanibel: 19

– Tice: 3

*DOH officials reported that the city name was not entered when the test results were.
