Number of COVID-19 cases increases on Captiva

Lee County has 5,869 confirmed cases of COVID-19 – 5,751 Florida residents and 118 non-residents – including 19 cases between Sanibel and Captiva, according to the Florida Department of Health.

As of today’s update, the DOH reported that there are 158,997 confirmed cases in Florida. There are 156,288 cases involving Florida residents and 2,709 cases of non-residents. The numbers include Florida residents who are diagnosed and isolated outside of the state.

In Lee County, there have been 57,417 tests given, with 5,869 testing positive and 51,532 testing negative. In addition, 20 cases are awaiting testing and 16 tests were inconclusive.

Also, the DOH reported that there are 159 recorded deaths among Florida residents for Lee.

– Miromar Lakes: 2

– Missing: 66*

– North Fort Myers: 179

– Saint James City: 4

– San Carlos Park: 2

– Sanibel: 17

– Tice: 3

*DOH officials reported that the city name was not entered when the test results were.
