Number of COVID-19 cases increases again on Sanibel

Lee County has 5,363 confirmed cases of COVID-19 – 5,246 Florida residents and 117 non-residents – including 18 cases between Sanibel and Captiva, according to the Florida Department of Health.

As of today’s update, the DOH reported that there are 146,341 confirmed cases in Florida. There are 143,805 cases involving Florida residents and 2,536 cases of non-residents. The numbers include Florida residents who are diagnosed and isolated outside of the state.

In Lee County, there have been 56,031 tests given, with 5,363 testing positive and 50,652 testing negative. In addition, 18 cases are awaiting testing and 16 tests were inconclusive.

Also, the DOH reported that there are 156 recorded deaths among Florida residents for Lee.

– Matlacha: 4

– Miromar Lakes: 2

– Missing: 54*

– North Fort Myers: 155

– Saint James City: 1

– San Carlos Park: 1

– Sanibel: 17

– Tice: 3

*DOH officials reported that the city name was not entered when the test results were.
