F.I.S.H. food pantry always open to donations
F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva reported that food is one of the most basic survival needs, yet there is a significant portion of the island community who struggle to put food on the table.
The human services organization works daily to reduce that number by providing assistance through its food programs, thanks to donors, volunteers, community partners and staff. It offers supplemental groceries five days a week with its “choice” food pantry, which allows clients to shop according to their life schedules that may otherwise prevent them from getting the resources they need.
The food pantry is always in need of the following items:
– Canned protein
– Nut butters and jellies
– Canned fruits and vegetables
– Pasta, rice and beans
– Ready-to-eat meals and soups
