City resumes sale of ‘A’ and ‘A/C’ parking permits

The city resumed the sale of 2020 “A” and “A/C” beach parking permits for residents and property owners on June 8 at the Sanibel Recreation Center, at 3880 Sanibel Captiva Road, Sanibel.
Sales had been suspended while the center was closed due to COVID-19.
The center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
To qualify for any beach parking permit, residents and property owners are required to bring to the valid vehicle registration for each vehicle for which they are purchasing a permit and a valid government issued identification. A driver’s license showing a Sanibel address or Sanibel proof of property ownership is required to purchase a resident/property owner “A” or “A/C” permit.
The cost of an “A” resident/property owner permit is $12 and an “A/C” permit is $102.
The cost to obtain a “transfer decal,” issued when a vehicle with an existing permit is sold, is $3.
All 2020 beach parking permits will expire on Nov. 30.
Payment may be made by MasterCard, American Express, Visa, check or cash. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, electronic payments are preferred at this time.
