Paddling Tip of the Week

By Staff | Jun 9, 2020

The most common question we get asked when taking a group kayaking is “where should I put my hands?” Here is a quick tip to help: while holding the paddle above your head, your arms should be at a 90 degree angle to the paddle shaft. Place your hands about shoulder width apart, with your grip relaxed on the paddle and your fingers forming an “O” shape. The weekly paddling tip is provided by the Ocean Tribe Paddling Club, which is affiliated with the Sanibel Sea School. For more information, visit oceantribepaddlers.org.
