Eric Lin, of Tomball, Texas, found a junonia shell on May 3 near the Sanibel Lighthouse during his morning run on the beach. His wife, Jackie, reported that the family has a timeshare at the Lighthouse Resort and Club and they spend two weeks on Sanibel every year. Lin added that her family has been coming to Sanibel since 1980 and she is blessed to now bring her husband and children back to enjoy the island. Her grandparents were the original owners of the timeshare that her family owns. Lin noted that she has many great memories of Sanibel from her childhood – however, finding a junonia was never one of them until now! The family had no idea how special the shell find was until they sent photos of their recent collection to her grandparents. Lin added that her grandpa used to take her and the other children on nightly walks and tease them by saying, “Let’s go find a junonia shell.”
