Two junonias found
Emma Dellenback, 11, of Sanibel, found two junonias on April 22 while on a boating trip with her family in the Pine Island Sound. Her father, Erik Dellenback, reported that the family recently moved to the island and his daughter has had a passion for shelling since she first visited Sanibel when she was 5 years old. Emma found the two shells within minutes of each other. Her father added that when she found the shells, she began shaking with excitement and dropped every other shell she was holding. One junonia is worn and incomplete, but the other shell is perfect, he added.
