Update on teacher grant in action

By Staff | Apr 22, 2020

The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge Education Committee recently received a report from one of its 2019-2020 teacher grant recipients, Colleen Taylor at James Stephens International Academy in Fort Myers. Her students are making good use of a grant for its “Escape Drill and Practice” project, using lock box activities that include puzzles and activities for all ages. Taylor reported that, “Every student was engaged and enthused when using the lock boxes. Students truly used a team effort during this experience. They immediately wanted to do another one when they completed the first one. They said thinking was fun! The challenges the boxes presented made my students even more inquisitive. This is a great learning tool.”
